Group Work

Sometimes people find working together in a group with a skilled therapist to be very helpful. Some people feel comfortable learning how to manage a problem with other people who have similar problems. In a group, people problem-solve together and learn new skills. Skills that can be learned in our supportive group environment include:

  • communication and language skills
  • empathetic skills (understanding how others feel)
  • vocabulary about feelings (understanding your feelings and how to talk about them)
  • negotiation and interpersonal skills (how to get along with other people)
  • healthy approaches to gaining good physical health

Karli Health Centre has some groups face-to-face and some groups online. Some groups may be residential, allowing complete and intensive focus in a retreat type environment.

Groups are in Auslan, so no interpreter. Some people who join groups can use their NDIS funds to pay for the cost.

Groups need 6-12 participants, so please let us know if you are interested!  Contact us to express interest in joining or to find out more …
